FAQs

What should I expect during my first massage therapy visit?

On your first visit, you will discuss your health history and address any of your concerns and goals with your massage therapist. Once the treatment has been determined, your massage therapist will leave the room to allow you the privacy to get onto the table and make yourself comfortable. Before re-entering the room to begin the treatment, your therapist will knock on the door.

Do I have to take off all of my clothes?

No. You can receive an effective, therapeutic massage regardless of what clothing (if any) you choose to remove. Your comfort and ability to relax is our first priority. Your therapist will assure that the sheet on the massage table always drapes you to maintain your privacy. If at any time you feel uncomfortable due to pain, treatment, or draping, please let your therapist know. Before and after the massage, you will be able undress and dress in complete privacy.

How long is a massage?

We offer 30, 60, and 90 minute massages. This does not include time spent dressing and discussing goals with your therapist.

Will I experience muscle soreness after my massage?

It’s not uncommon to feel some muscle soreness after a massage. Massage triggers a release of lactic acid stored in tight muscles, which can create a temporary feeling of soreness. However, many people enjoy post-massage heightened energy levels and most report improved mobility.

How often should I get a massage?

Depending on your preventative and maintenance needs, one massage per month is generally the recommended frequency. If your specific condition or needs demand it, your therapist will design a customized treatment plan which may involve more or less frequent massages.
